Yeah My xbox 360 got the red rings and i dont feel like paying micorsoft to get it fix. this is a very old xbox so i can care less. the xbox was made in 2006 so i wasnt surprise when it got the red rings. Hope this trick works for you people that had the red rings of death.. Enjoy. 
Update as of 2-10-11 I have done this towel trick or blanket tirck what ever you want to call it for some time now. this is a good way to keep your xbox alive if you can not buy a xbox right away. i have done this method 7 times already. this last about a week then after i get the red rings again i would have to redo the process like shown in this video. the process last about 40 minutes depending how fast you cool down your xbox. My xbox 360 is overheated, I believe it did not have much room for ventilation is my fault …. I tried this method with towels and it work …. thanks for the good video and your help
@MegaDude441 the red rings show that the xbox is over heated and well not work this temporarily fixes it but u got to take it apart and clean it get the dust out if not u well be abl to use it but with it over heating every fine mins

take 2 cue tips and stick them in the back to block the fans for about 3 to 5 mins and it will go to 2 red rings just like ur towl thing but alot easyier

yes this does work, just another thing u cud do instead of letting it cool down is to make sure tht its wrapped enough tht it overheats and it turns off automatically then u can turn it back on and it shud work, if not then turn it off and let it sit their for a little bit then turn it back on. other than tht great video
